SIMULATED PRACTICE EXAMS Open Book Bar Prep is the only study course that offers six full-day simulated exams. The full-day practice exams are a crucial element of preparing for the bar exam. For students to fully prepare for the three-day exam they must know exactly what to expect during the examination. Some students excel in practice tests, but may panic on exam day. We administer six full-day exams to ensure that students are well prepared and do not get flustered. Open Book students practice each section of the bar exam with exactly the same time restrictions as the actual test. Training under test-taking conditions is the only way to be certain that there are no surprises, especially since most students have never taken a full-day exam. During the three day exam many students may naturally feel nervous about timing, content and other issues. Throughout the six mock exams students learn how to manage pressure and test-taking concerns. When students practice under pressure they learn how to control these feelings, which allows students to focus clearly on the exam questions. Anxiety and stress are emotions that surface because of the unknown; we are fearful of the unknown. After each practice exam students gain confidence and reduce worries because they are familiar with what to expect on exam days. The simulated full-day exercises help create a sense of normalcy and high-quality test-taking habits. Every simulated exam is reviewed one-on-one by an instructor. The review session includes not only an evaluation of the correct and incorrect answers, but also physical and mental distractions. Students become aware of small slips that can cost valuable time on the exam. Following the post exam one-on-one assessments, new goals will be identified for every student. Once students become mindful of errors and distractions, they become proficient, prepared, and confident to excel during all three days of the bar exam. |
